ORDINANCE NO. 177035
* Amend an Intergovernmental Agreement between Multnomah County, acting by and through its District Attorney’s Office, for the Police Bureau to provide Detectives trained in child abuse investigations to work evenings and weekends (Ordinance; amend Contract No. 51581)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The CAMI Grant provides funding from the Child Abuse Multi-disciplinary Intervention Account to Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in accordance with the grant application and awards.
2. The Police Bureau agrees to provide Detectives specially trained in conducting child abuse investigations during evening hours and on weekends to respond to child abuse referrals.
3. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office agrees to reimburse the Police Bureau for overtime hours worked by the Detectives investigating child abuse cases during evenings and weekends.
4. The total receivable amount on this contract as amended will increase from $20,000 to a maximum of $32,359.89 for the period July 1, 2001 through and including June 30, 2002.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and City Auditor are hereby authorized to amend contract 51581 between the City of Portland and Multnomah County attached as Exhibit A.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the City of Portland and Multnomah County of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
