ORDINANCE NO. 177022
*Accept a $45,000 grant from the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police for a DUII Traffic Safety Grant (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Motor Carrier Transportation Division has made grant funds available to the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police (OACP) for DUII overtime enforcement again this year.
2. The OACP agrees to reimburse the Portland Police Bureau for overtime hours worked under this grant agreement at a rate of $30/hour up to a total of $45,000.
3. This agreement shall be effective October 1, 2002 and shall terminate on September 30, 2003.
4. No match is required for this grant
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor is authorized to accept a grant from the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police for the Portland Police Bureau.
b An increase in appropriation for FY 02/03 and transfer funds for the grant award is authorized as follows:

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists in that delay in accepting this grant will deprive the City of Portland of additional law enforcement services for traffic enforcement; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
