ORDINANCE No. 177008

* Amend contract with Links Analytical, Inc. to continue water quality monitoring of Portland Parks for an additional year (Ordinance: amend Contract No. 33937)

The City of Portland ordains:

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  Portland Parks and Recreation entered into Contract No. 33937 Links Analytical, Inc. on November 7, 2001, for water quality monitoring and development of a water quality plan.

2.  The program is in place, and the monitoring needs to be extended to include the testing schedules of 2002-2003, as described in Exhibit A to the attached amendment

3.  In order to complete the testing for 2002-2003, it is now necessary to increase the contract amount by $14,000.00 for a revised total of $33,940.00. Funds are available for this purpose in the Horticultural Services budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Commissioner in Charge of Portland Parks & Recreation and the Auditor are authorized to execute the attached contract amendment with Links Analytical, Inc

b.  The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to draw and deliver warrants from the Horticultural Services budget, for a revised amount not to exceed $33,940.00, in accordance with this ordinance.

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists, because these services are needed without delay to maintain continuity of the data in the water quality testing program; therefore, this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
