ORDINANCE NO. 176967

 

*Authorize an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Oregon, Employment Division, Hearing Officer Panel, Transportation Section and the Police Bureau to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (Ordinance)

 

The City of Portland ordains:

 

Section 1. The Council finds:

 

 1.  The City has the capability to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (PPDS) and associated services to law enforcement agencies.

 

 2.  The State of Oregon, Employment Division, Hearing Officer Panel, Transportation Section desires to enter into an agreement with the City to gain access to PPDS services.

 

3.  The costs of providing access to the PPDS services will be waived for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003.

 

 4.  The effective dates of this contract are July 1, 2002, or the date all parties have signed the agreement, and shall terminate, unless extended, amended or modified, through June 30, 2003. This agreement may be terminated at any time by mutual written consent of the parties.

NOW, therefore, the Council directs:

 

 a.  The Mayor and the City Auditor are hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services between the State of Oregon, Employment Division, Hearing Officer Panel, Transportation Section and the Police Bureau, as detailed in the attached Intergovernmental Agreement.

 

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the State of Oregon and the City of Portland of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
