ORDINANCE No. 176838
*Authorize an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice and the Police Bureau to provide access to the Portland Police Data System and the Police with access to the Juvenile Information Network (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The City has the capability to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (PPDS) and associated services to law enforcement agencies.
2. Community Justice desires to enter into an agreement with the City to gain access to PPDS services.
3. The Police desire access to the County’s Juvenile Information Network.
4. Community Justice agrees to provide the Police with access to the Juvenile Information Network in trade for providing Community Justice with access to PPDS. Neither party will charge the other for the services provided under this reciprocal agreement.
5. The effective dates of this contract are July 1, 2002, or the date all parties have signed the agreement, until termination.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and the City Auditor are hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services between the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice and the Police Bureau, as detailed in the Intergovernmental Agreement attached as Exhibit 1.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice and the City of Portland of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
