* Authorize Intergovernmental Agreement with Multnomah County to provide Level C Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training for County
Health Department Employees (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. Multnomah County Health Department (County) requires the certification of its employees in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
2. The Portland Bureau of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (PBFRES) is able to provide CPR certification and re-certification classes for County employees, at a cost to the County of $30 per person.
3. The current agreement expired on April 30, 2002.
4. Multnomah County has requested a new Agreement for the period of May 1, 2002 through April 30, 2003.
5. The fee Multnomah County will pay for the training is not to exceed $30,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. The Commissioner in Charge is authorized to execute the agreement to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to Multnomah County employees, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because the existing agreement expired on April 30, 2002; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
