ORDINANCE NO. 176814
*Amend contract with the Community Energy Project to extend date, change scope, and increase dollar amount by $50,000 (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. That conservation is one source of water supply, and especially during peak summer months it is important for customers to manage their water use;
2. That providing information to help residents with overall affordability of utility bills is important;
3. That self-help water conservation workshops provide water/sewer customers an opportunity to ways they can conserve water, thus giving them more control over their water/sewer bills.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council directs:
a. That the Water Bureau Administrator and Auditor are authorized to execute on behalf of the City an amendment to a contract with the Community Energy Project to provide self-help water conservation workshops targeted to low income water/sewer customers.
b. That workshops provided by the Community Energy Project in cooperation with the Bureau of Water Works should continue in fiscal year 2002-2003 without a break in availability. Funds are available in Water Fund 153, Center Code 18002122, Project #2119, Account Code 521000.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because there is a need to continue these workshops without a break to help targeted low income water/sewer customers.
Therefore, this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
