ORDINANCE No. 176773

 

*  Authorize Intergovernmental Agreement with Metropolitan Service District, for maintenance of a computerized mapping systems for Portland Fire and Rescue emergency response vehicles, not to exceed $25,000 (Ordinance)

 

The City of Portland ordains:

 

Section 1. The Council finds:

 

1.  The City and Metropolitan Service District (Metro) find it mutually beneficial for both governments to cooperate in mapping the metropolitan area in order to enhance the prompt delivery of emergency response.

 

2.  Portland Bureau of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (PF&R) has a need to have current mapping and system information available in electronic format in its emergency response apparatus.

 

3.  Metro has the current ability and capacity to maintain the components of a mapping and data system for the City.

 

 4.  PF&R has sufficient resources in its FY 2002-03 budget to allow for these additional costs.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

 

a.  The Commissioner in Charge and the Auditor are authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with Metro for the maintenance of a computerized mapping system for use in emergency response vehicles for Portland Fire and Rescue, substantially in accordance with the terms and conditions as shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, not exceed $25,000, for fiscal year ending June 30, 2003.

 

b.  The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to draw and deliver warrants chargeable to the appropriate Fire Bureau budget, when demand is presented and approved by the proper authorities.

 

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because Portland Fire and Rescue has an immediate need for a computerized mapping system; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
