ORDINANCE NO. 176755
*Authorize an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Multnomah County Medical Examiner and the Police Bureau to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The City has the capability to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (PPDS) and associated services to law enforcement agencies.
2. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner (hereinafter known as Medical Examiner), desires to enter into an agreement with the City to gain access to the PPDS services.
3. The Police Bureau will bear the costs incurred in the provision of PPDS services to the Medical Examiner.
4. The effective dates of this contract are July 1, 2002 until termination.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and the City Auditor are hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services between the Multnomah County Medical Examiner and the Police Bureau, as detailed in the attached Intergovernmental Agreement.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the Multnomah County Medical Examiner and the City of Portland of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
