ORDINANCE NO. 176621
*Authorize an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Oregon Health and Science University Department of Public Safety and the Police Bureau to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The City has the capability to provide access to the Portland Police Data System (PPDS) and associated services to law enforcement agencies.
2. The Oregon Health and Science University Department of Public Safety (OHSU), desires to enter into an agreement with the City to gain access to the PPDS services.
3. The costs incurred by the Police Bureau for the provision of PPDS services will be offset by the revenue received from OHSU for the services.
4. The effective dates of this contract are July 1, 2002, or the date all parties have signed the contract, until termination.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and the City Auditor are hereby authorized to execute an agreement for services between the Oregon Health and Science University and the Police Bureau, as detailed in the attached Intergovernmental Agreement.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the Multnomah County Medical Examiner and the City of Portland of the mutual benefits of this agreement; therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
