* Extend contract with Cascade Occupational Medicine Physicians, Inc. to perform medical evaluations for applicants to the Community Police Officer and Police Corps Program and to increase compensation (Ordinance; amend contract No. 33222)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Bureau of Police needs to contract with a vendor to perform medical examinations of applicants for Community Police Officers and Police Corps programs.
2. Cascade Occupational Medicine Physicians, Inc. agrees to continue to administer medical examinations for the applicants.
3. The contractor shall perform tests that determine if candidates meet the minimum standards for the programs as outlined by the standards set by the Department of Public safety Standards and Training (DPSST).
4. The contract shall be effective July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, for a maximum amount of $275,080.
NOW, therefore, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and the Auditor are hereby authorized to execute an agreement between the City of Portland and Cascade Occupational Medicine Physicians, Inc. for medical evaluation services.
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in proceeding with this agreement will unnecessarily deprive the City of Portland from the required medical examinations of Community Police Officer and Police Corps applicants.
