ORDINANCE NO. 176398

* Amend agreement with Sisters Of The Road Café, Inc. to $41,794 for personnel in FY 01/02 and provide for payment. (Ordinance; amend Agreement No. 33822)

The City of Portland ordains:

SECTION 1. The Council finds that:

1.  Funding for community based organizing with homeless and formerly homeless people meets the goals and objectives of the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Program.

2.  The Subrecipient has successfully demonstrated a capacity to bring together various persons who have experienced homelessness.

3.  The City Council has authorized $41,794 in FY 01/02 Housing Investment Funds (Bureau of Housing and Community Development) for this project for FY 01/02.

4.  The City now desires to amend its formal agreement with the Subrecipient.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to amend an agreement with Sisters of the Road Café, Inc. for the community based homeless organizing effort in a form substantially in accordance with the agreement attached as Exhibit A (attached to the original ordinance only).

b.  The Mayor and City Auditor are hereby authorized to pay for said contract from the Housing Investment Fund.

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay in funding would interrupt Sisters of the Road Café, Inc.’s ability to conduct an organizing effort with homeless and formerly homeless people; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by Council.
