ORDINANCE No. 176387
* Authorize a contract with Kuhn Associates for an amount not to exceed $70,250 to provide
irrigation system design and construction management services for Rose City Golf Course
(Ordinance)
The City of Portland ordains:
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. The Bureau of Parks and Recreation requires professional design and construction management services for irrigation system improvements to Rose City Golf Course. The existing irrigation system is in need of replacement due to its age and limited capabilities
2. The Bureau of Parks and Recreation has advertised and received proposals in accordance with Section 5.68 of the City Code, for the purpose of entering into this agreement.
3. A Selection Committee evaluated the proposals against defined performance criteria and recommended that Kuhn Associates be awarded the contract.
4. Funds for this contract will be drawn from the Golf Operation Fund , Center Code 61799150.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council Directs:
a. The Commissioner in charge of Portland Parks & Recreation and the Auditor are authorized to execute an agreement with Kuhn Associates, similar in form to the agreement attached, for a sum not to exceed $70,250.00.
b. The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to provide for payment chargeable to the applicable budgets when demand is presented and approved by the appropriate authorities.
Section 2. The Council declares an emergency exists because the project’s schedule requires that work commence in April to ensure that the project can be completed by Summer 2002; therefore, this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
