Subject: Alamo Manhattan project in South Waterfront

Importance: Normal

I write this in opposition of the large Alamo Manhattan project Proposed for the South Waterfront for two reasons. The first is the greenway which is a well used public right of way for walking along the river- it’s use should not be diminished by towering buildings close to the path or restricted in any way as it adds quality of life to the entire area and all of its residents.

The second concern is parking. because the area is bordered by the river, a dead end business complex and Macadam Avenue on three of its sides, parking is already very limited and often problematic. To add 1200 units to the area, and then assuming only 50% of those will have two cars, we are looking at parking needs for up 1800 vehicles. The plan allows for 985 spots, there are not 815 additional spots currently available in the area. This will affect residents, service providers coming to the area and traffic in a very negative way.

I urge you to reconsider the size and scope of this Project
