I wish to object to the Portland Design Commission's approval of the Alamo Manhattan project.

My understanding is that the arrangements of the buildings, with the taller buildings closest to the river, are not in accord with city guidelines for South Waterfront, which specify that building heights should be graduated from west to east, with heights gradually decreasing as one approaches the west bank of the Willamette River.

In any case, in my view, the towers are too close to the river and do not provide sufficient public space and amenities as contemplated in the city's long-range planning for the greenway.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Parks
