To Whom It May Concern

I have just learned that today (September 17, 2020) at 4pm marks the cut-off for submission of comments pertaining to an appeal to the City Council to reverse the Design Commission's approval of the Alamo Manhattan expansion into the blocks directly south of where my wife and I have lived for the past 3 1/2 years. From everything I have seen and heard from the time we first learned about the impending development, I have to wonder about the extent of proper oversight throughout the process. The original proposal to build 2 (or 4) 7-story buildings has morphed into a couple of 25-story buildings (twice the zoned max) and 1200 new residents with little or no consideration for the infrastructure or any of the negative economic consequences, And what about the impact on that Greenway, which has the potential to be breathtaking rather than an afterthought.

We love it here and hope we'll spend the rest of our years here. But to say we're concerned by the lack of communication and its content, and the lack of commitment and care shown by both the developer and the city of portland - would be an understatement.

I've just hit the tip of the iceberg but I'm running out of time. PLEASE GIVE FULL CONSIDERATION TO RE-THINKING THE FUTURE OF SOUTH WATERFRONT.

Thank you,
