Staci,

I had mentioned the following idea at a public meeting, but have no idea if it was discussed by the appropriate commission.

My suggestion is that all new buildings in the South Waterfront area should be required to have an indoor off-the-street, trash/garbage collection area for the many trucks in the area each day. This would definitely decrease the metal/glass heavy noise level and secondly, cut down the street traffic delays when several trucks converge on many narrow streets.

Hopefully this concept will be discussed or has been and definitely implemented for the Alamo Manhattan project which plans four high-rise buildings. (Perhaps the building code in all Multnomah County)
