Whereas, the month of November has been designated “Young Professionals Civic Month,” with the support and leadership of the Young Professionals of Portland; and

Whereas, Young Professionals Civic Month has been designed to include young professionals from across our city from various civic organizations involving thousands of young people; and

Whereas, the volunteer efforts of young professionals during this month show that each individual will have an impact on their community; and

Whereas, the experience, education and participation of young professionals during this month will instill a good will towards the community in which they live and work; and

Whereas, the variety of needs and opportunities that volunteers can address is large and varied; and

Whereas, the young professionals of the City of Portland have proven that they are willing to work hard to give to others and to fix problems in their community;

Now, therefore, I, Tom Potter, Mayor of the City of Portland, Oregon, the “City of Roses,” do hereby proclaim the month of November

Young Professionals Civic Month

in Portland.
